Job Description/Responsibilities

Bio
The Senior Product Development Scientist works with the Sazerac global product development team to support new product development. Works with Brand Managers, Consumer Insight and through the use of their own creativity to develop and create innovative alcoholic beverages that meet or exceed demands of the customers worldwide. This position contributes to Sazerac fiscal growth through greater sales and innovative new products that please customers.

Responsibilities
  • Improve performance and competencies through feedback and self-awareness.

  • Responsible for managing and contributing to our strategic brand development as well as company new business development, including NBD and geographic expansion.

  • Facilitate the continuous improvement of Product Development for Sazerac Company, including support for domestic and international plants and suppliers for technical support when needed.

    Oversee the development, implementation and management of improving the Product Development teams systems, processes, products, and services.

  • Ensure our fiscal year growth by developing products or improving existing ones to achieve greater sales and/or reduce costs without customer complaints.

    Work with consumer insights group and international partners to develop alcoholic beverages that meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations on Global Platform.

  • Oversee Product Development and Formulation to ensure we execute new initiatives on time, within budget, and meeting regulatory and legal Compliance globally.

    Working cross-functionally with Brand Managers, Consumer Insight and through the use of my own creativity to develop and create innovative alcoholic beverages that meet or exceed demands of the customer and consumer.

  • Develop and maintain solid professional working relationships both inside and outside the company. Set a positive example and act in a manner consistent with company values.

  • Improve organizational effectiveness by developing and coaching direct reports and team members on improving their knowledge, skills, and capabilities.

Qualifications/Requirements

Must
  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Excellent oral & written communication skills

  • Food Science or related degree

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of an org

  • Experience in Alcohol Beverage Industry or CPG overall

  • 7 years relevant experience (minimum)
Preferred
  • Demonstrate the ability to work as a team as well as self-directed

  • Strong planning and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
Physical
  • Ability to pick up and/or move objects up to 50 pounds without assistance.

  • Ability to work overtime if necessary

  • Ability to work 8 hour shift

  • In-person job attendance

  • Distinguish flavors through taste and smell

  • Ability to read and write

  • Ability to pay attention to detail

  • Ability to work in fumes or airborne particles conditions
